The publication of revised EU Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) may finalised in a few weeks. The report follows comments made by Ralf Sauer, EU Commission Deputy Head for International Data Flows, and Alexander Filip, Head of International Transfers at the recent IAPP KnowldegeNet.
Sauer said a new set of standard contractual clauses with changes to the previous draft will publish in the next two weeks. Filip indicated a final version of the EDPB’s recommendations on supplementary measures could come this June if the authorities can agree on them during next month’s plenary meeting.
The European Data Protection Board (EDPB) published the draft recommendation on the Schrems II judgment in November 2020
A revamped EU-U.S. Privacy Shield, however, “is still far away.”
